A class of Year 5 and 6 students at Shelly Park School in East Auckland have written compelling pieces of persuasive writing about animals at SPCA in need of loving forever homes. Their teacher, Laura Tomlinson, guided her students to explore SPCA's website and learn about the animals available for adoption at SPCA Māngere. Ms. Tomlinson then asked her students to write a persuasive piece to inspire others to adopt these deserving animals.
A month or so later, all but one of the animals these students wrote about have been adopted! Daphne the 9month female pig is still waiting for her forever home.
Awesome work Ms. Tomlinson’s class! Thank you for caring about animals in need <3
