The Importance of the SPCA
By Brooke
ALL animals would like to grow up in a good home, in a place where they are comfortable, safe, and warm. In a happy and free environment where as an animal you can be yourself. It should not matter what type of living creature you are to have these rights.
BUT what happens to you if you are an animal who does not have a home! Where would you go? Who would look after you? Who would be your voice if your home were not how it should be?
Well I know the answer to all of these questions because I personally have been to a place that helps animals in need. It is called the SPCA.
I would like to share with you the importance of the SPCA and just some of the things they do to help animals. Firstly, SPCA means (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
The importance of the SPCA is they take care of animals by providing food, water, shelter, and love.
They also are a voice for animals and they have legal powers to help animals in need. They can bring animal offenders to justice.
Did you know that the SPCA is a charity? It survives by receiving money thought the generosity of others. Running activities, fundraising, and donations raise much needed money to help support animals in need. The SPCA takes in over 42,000 animals each year.
What can you do to help the SPCA?
1. You could donate some money
2. Adopt a rescue animal
3. Donate food and blankets
I have two rescue cats from the SPCA. It was the best decision I ever made to adopt them. My cat's names are Paws and Spot. They were shy at first AND Spot had a broken tail.
Put your hand up if you like animals! Well so do I. Next time you go to buy an animal or if you have room in your home, then I recommend you try to adopt a pet from the SPCA first.
You will fall in LOVE...
